Our Philosophy

Though the college application process is the final step, the journey begins long before.  Teens are in a phase of trying to find themselves and learn their own voice.  They naturally took on the voices of their parents and trusted adults initially.  As they grow and progress, the goal is for them to find their own voice while maintaining the values they were raised with.  High school is a time of discovery and growth.  It is one of the first times in their lives that they are in the driver’s seat (literally and figuratively).  Helping them identify their passions, motivations, and values is a critical step in development.  It is also a stressful time in their lives (and ours as parents). Every parent simply wants what is best for our children.  We are here to help reduce that stress and help students navigate this complicated and emotional phase.

When Should We Start?

The last semester of 8th grade gives us the best opportunity to get the most out of high school in preparation for college.  These efforts will have a direct impact down the road but we don't want to stress the students out.  After all, high school is supposed to be fun.

If you aren't quite ready to get started at the beginning of high school then It is good to get started in the spring of your student's sophomore year or right by summer.  This allows us to more fully explore and make a plan for success.  By the middle of junior year, we will begin in-depth college planning.  There will be families who are getting a later start.  Though not optimal for pre-planning, we can still accomplish the goal of showcasing your student's best attributes on their applications to give them the best opportunity for success.

I WOULD LOVE TO REDUCE THE STRESS OF THE COLLEGE PROCESS, SHOW ME MORE...
